In a pan boil 3/4 cup water and sugar and make one string syrup. Mix rosewater, saffron strings or orange colour and keep aside.

Make medium thick batter of besan and water. Mix a pinch of baking soda.

In a wide open pan or kadahi heat oil and make boondi with the help of jhara (spatula with holes) and ladle and deep fry till golden brown on medium heat. Repeat the process for whole batter.

Now put all the boondi in the syrup prepared earlier and mix well. Keep boondi for 2-3 hours to absorb the syrup and get set.

You can garnish with pista slivers and silver foil.
