An old and famous Turkish dish, made here with all the right steps. It's a very healthy, delicious, and filling meal. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you! 😊
Steps
- 1
Place the ground beef in a large bowl. Add the grated garlic, grated onion, and all the listed spices. Mix well with the meat, then form into medium-sized balls and arrange them in a Pyrex baking dish.
- 2
Preheat the oven and bake for 20 minutes at 350°F (180°C). This step helps the meatballs hold their shape.
- 3
While the meatballs are in the oven, prepare the sauce. Finely chop the onion, grate the garlic, and add the oil. Sauté until the onion turns a light golden color.
- 4
Add the grated tomatoes and stir. After two minutes, add the tomato paste and mix well until it dissolves. Add salt to taste, then add enough water to reach your desired sauce consistency. Stir and cook for five minutes, then turn off the heat.
- 5
I added some paprika (about 1 tablespoon) for a deeper red color (optional). This is how the sauce looks when finished.
- 6
After the meatballs have baked, remove them from the oven and pour the sauce over them. Return to the oven and bake for 40 to 50 minutes.
- 7
Remove from the oven and serve on a platter. Enjoy!
