Pilau is among the best dishes prepared during festive season in Africa. It is very delicious meal ever when cooked with pishori rice. I prepared this so as to surprise my sister during her graduation.

Pilau is among the best dishes prepared during festive season in Africa. It is very delicious meal ever when cooked with pishori rice. I prepared this so as to surprise my sister during her graduation.

Ingredients

2 people
  1. 2 cupspishori rice
  2. 1/4 kgbeef
  3. 2ripe tomatoes
  4. 5onions
  5. Garlic
  6. Ginger
  7. Pilau masala
  8. Frying oil
  9. Salt
  10. Water
  11. Lemon juice
  12. 50 gTomato paste

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cut your beef into small pieces. Wash it and boil for 10 minutes. Chop 4 onions and tomatoes in a bowl.In a separate sufuria boil 4 cups of water.

    Crush your ginger and garlic adding little salt so as to crush well.

    Put 5 spoons of the frying oil in a sufuria and fry the onions to golden brown.Add the crushed ginger and garlic and stir together for 3 minutes, Add the pilau masala and mix well.leave to fry for 2 minutes.

    Add the beef and fry till it turns brown, add the tomatoes and a little salt and fry till the tomatoes to become tender, add the tomatoe paste and mix well.

    Then add the 4 cups of boiled water and stir well.leave to boil for 2 minutes.

    Add your rice and stir frequently at moderate heat till the water is almost absorbed..

    For the rice to dry well, cover the sufuria with a lid at the top and put hot charcoals at the top. leave it to dry for 10 minutes.

    Then remove the lid, its ready to serve. Prepare your kachumbari and add the lemon juice. Serve with ovacodo and enjoy so delicious.
