Steps

Wash and boil meat to tender and dry

Cut onions into the meat and fry till golden brown

Add pounded garlic, capsicum, tomatoes, salt, then Irish potatoes, stir, then add pilau masala, tumeric and tomato paste and continue stirring then add black pepper. Let it cook for about 5 minutes as you stir to avoid sticking on the pan and to incorporate all the ingredients.

Add in rice and stir for 3-5 minutes

Add in hot water twice the amount of rice, stir and allow it to simmer till all the water is drained. Your pilau is ready to serve.

Serve with chilled kachumbari
