Steps

Soak all the mentioned dal overnight..make a coarse paste of all dals..mix all the dry spices as well garlic and chilli paste..add salt as par your taste before you start filling the paste in your pooris, or else the consistency will be watery.

Prepare a dough by adding rice flour water and salt,make a thick puri out of the dough,add dal paste at the half of the side of the poori and cover it with the other side of the poori.

Cook them in a steamer for 20 to 30 minutes.When it’s cooked switch of the gas,take out all the faras (dumplings) and let it cool down.

Now is the time to temper faras. Heat oil in a skillet and add cumin seeds, curry leaves and pinch of asafoetida..let them crackle..

Now add faras and fry them.You can sprinkle some chat masala and more red chilli powder if you like spicy food..garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve them with green chutney or tomato chutney..
