Steps

Rinse moong dal and rice well and keep aside. Rinse all vegetables well and cut it small pieces.

Heat the ghee or oil in a pan on low flame. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder, chopped green chilli sauté.

Then add bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves and sauté. Add coriander seed powder, cumin seed powder and fry it well. Add goda masala or garam masala mix well.

Now add moong dal and rice mix it well. Add around 3 cup water. Stir well.

Cover and cook on medium flame till it start bubbling. Now lower the flame. If the water dries up you can add more water.

Now add all chopped vegetables, salt and Mix well.

Cover and simmer till the rice and dal cooked.

Finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves and ghee. Serve with papad, buttermilk/kadhi or pickle.
