Heat the ghee in a pan on low flame. Add cumin seeds, cloves and cinnamon.

Then add chana dal, udad dal and sauté. Then add cashews and sauté.

Now add asafoetida, onion and fry till it becomes golden.

Add chopped tomato, mint leaves, turmeric powder, red chilli powder,salt and sauté till it becomes soft and mushy. Add garam masala, salt and mix well.

Add the cooked rice and mix well. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.

Switch off the gas. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with raita or plain curd.
