We Gujaratis generally make halva from carrot, bottle gourd, dry fruit etc. I came to know about Pumpkin halva, from one fellow foodie,which is traditional Punjabi dessert. Till now I used Pumpkin in soups, gravies but recently I tried this halva & it turned out so delicious.

Ingredients

30 miniutes
4 persons
  1. 500 gmspumpkin
  2. 1/2 cupghee
  3. 1 cupsugar
  4. 2 cupmilk (approximately)
  5. 1/4 tspcardamom powder
  6. as neededDry fruit of your choice

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Peel & chop pumpkin in small pieces, discard seeds.

  2. 2

    Heat ghee in non stick pan, add pumpkin & start sauteing.

  3. 3

    Once pumpkin wilts & goes limp, add milk & sugar.

  4. 4

    Keep sauteing & stirring, at this stage you can keep flame high.

  5. 5

    Cook till halva leaves the sides, then add cardamom powder & dry fruits. Turn off heat & serve.
