This is a simple, tasty and highly nutritious recipe using cauliflower greens. These leaves are usually discarded and not eaten by most people, and I wonder why? Cauliflower greens are one of the richest source of calcium among greens.

Combining these leaves with Chana dal adds protein and makes it very healthy. This is our own homemade recipe creation!

Ingredients

6 (people)
  1. Few Cauliflower leaves
  2. 1Onion
  3. 2 tbspSplit Bengal gram (Chana dal)
  4. 3/4 tspTurmeric powder (haldi)
  5. 3/4 tsp Red chilli powder
  6. 1 tspMustard seeds
  7. 1/3 tspAsafoetida (hing)
  8. 1/2 tspSalt (or as per taste)
  9. 3/4 tspSugar

Cooking Instructions

    Soak Chana dal and keep aside for about 20-30 mins.

    Chop onion

    Chop the cauliflower greens finely.

  4. 4

    In a pressure pan, heat 1 tbsp oil. Add mustard seeds till they splutter. Add hing and haldi powder.

    Add soaked chana and stir well. Then add chopped onion and mix well.

    Add chilli powder and mix well.

  7. 7

    Add salt, sugar, little water.

  8. 8

    Pressure cook for 3 whistles and your vegetable is ready!
