Apple Crumb Cake

This apple crumb cake is a crumb lovers coffee cake. Moist with fresh apple and a ripple of spiced crmb in the center and on top. It's good warm or room temperature and freezes well in slices to have on hand.

Cooking Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350. Spray a 9 inch springform pan with bakers spray.

Make Crumb

In a bowl whisk together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, heath toffee bits and salt until combined

Add the melted butter and stir gently to form moist crumbs. Set aside and make cake.

Make Cake

In a bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg, set aside

In a large bowl beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy
- 9
Add eggs one at a time beating in each eggg, beat in vanilla

Add sour cream and coombine

Add flour mixture and stir until a thick batter is formed

Spread 1/2 of batter into prepared pan, using a off set spatula or back of spoon to evenly spread batter in a thin layet

Add apples evenly

Top apples with about /2 of crumb mmixture

Top with remaining batterr

Top with remaing crumb mixture plsce on goil lined pan and bake about 50 to 60 minutes until a toothpick has only a few moist crumbs. Cool completely in pan

When cool realease sides of springform pan and glaze

Glaze Cake

Beat together confectioner's sugar, cream and vanilla until smooth, adding drops more cream if it seems to thick

Glaze cake, slice and serve
