A delicious alternative to classic beanie weenies!

Ingredients

  1. Part one
  2. 1 poundhotdogs
  3. 1large onion diced
  4. 1large green bell pepper diced
  5. 29 ouncecan of black beans separate 1 cup
  6. 1 teaspoonground cumin
  7. 1 tablespoonmolasses
  8. 2 tablespoonsextra virgin olive oil
  9. To tastesalt
  10. 1/2 cupwater
  11. Part 2 for the one cup of separation
  12. 2 tablespoonsextra virgin olive oil
  13. 1/2 teaspoonoregano
  14. To tastesalt
  15. To tasteground black pepper
  16. Green bean and potato fried rice
  17. 1-1/2 cupcold cooked rice
  18. 15 ouncecan green beans and potatoes
  19. 1/2 teaspoonseasoned salt
  20. 1/2 teaspoongranulated onion powder
  21. 1/2 teaspoongranulated garlic powder
  22. 1/2 teaspoonground black pepper
  23. To tastesalt if needed
  24. 2 tablespoonsextra virgin olive oil
  25. Optional
  26. To tastehot pepper vinegar sauce see my recipe

Cooking Instructions

    Separate 1 cup of black beans, and set aside. Heat two tablespoons oil in a deep pot, add the diced onion and peppers. Add the spices. Sauté till onions are translucent. Slice the hotdogs into bite sized pieces.

    Add the one cup of black beans. Add the oregano. Fry the beans and smash them. Add to the onions and peppers and sauté for 15 minutes.

    Add the hotdogs.

    Heat two tablespoons of olive oil. Drain the green beans liquids and save the liquids. Add green beans and potatoes to the hot oil.

    Fry till lightly browned. Now add the rice and spices. Stir in well. Add half the green bean liquid. Cook till liquids are absorbed and brown the rice and potatoes slightly.

    Add all the beanie weenie ingredients together and incorporate well. Simmer for 30 minutes stirring often.

    Add fried rice to a plate.

Last week I put sauteed weinies in left over beans for the first time. I couldn't believe how good it was and that I had never done it before! This looks delicious! I like how thick, dark and creamy this is, this dish has some soul!
