Ingredients

  1. 200 gmsChole
  2. 2Onions finely chopped
  3. 2Tomato pureed
  4. 1 tspGinger garlic paste
  5. to tasteSalt
  6. 1 tspRed chilli powder
  7. 1 tspDhaniya/coriander powder
  8. 1/4 tspHaldi /turmeric powder
  9. 1/2 tspAmchoor powder
  10. 1/2 tspChana masala
  11. 1/8 tspHing
  12. 1/2 tspJeera/cumin seeds
  13. 1 tbspOil
  14. 1/2 tspKasoori methi
  15. 1 tspLemon juice
  16. as requiredCoriander leaves to garnish
  17. for potli :
  18. 2 tea bagsTea leaves
  19. 4-5 pcscloves
  20. 5-6 pcsPeppercorns
  21. 1Bay leaf
  22. 1 smallCinnamon stick
  23. 2Black and green cardamoms

Cooking Instructions

    Soak chole overnight.

    In a piece of muslin cloth take cloves, peppercorns,bay leaf, cinnamon stick and cardamoms and tie it and make potli.

    In a pressure cooker take chole add potli and salt. Boil it for 5-6 whistles.

    Now in a small bowl mix all dry ingredients Salt red chilli powder, haldi, dhaniya powder,Amchoor,chana masala and kasoori methi. Mix well and make thick paste. Keep aside.

    Now in a kadhai take oil add jeera and hing.
    Add ginger garlic paste. Cook for a minute.

    Now add chopped onions. Cook till brown. Add tomato puree. Cook till oil saperates.

    Add masala paste. Mix well and cook till oil saperates. Add boiled chole. Add required amount of water.

    Cover and cook for 10 mins.
    Garnish with onion and coriander leaves.

    Serve hot with roti, naan or kulcha puri.
