Ingredients

  1. 1. Amaranth - 1 cup chopped
  2. 2. Toor dal - 1/4 cup
  3. 3. Moong dal - 1/4 cup
  4. 4. Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  5. 5. Tomato - 1 chopped
  6. 6. Hing - 1/4 tsp
  7. 7. Coconut oil - 1/2 tsp
  8. 8. Garlic - 10 sliced
  9. 9. Salt - as needed
  10. 10. Green chilli - 1 sliced
  11. 11. Water - 1.5 cups
  12. To Temper:
  13. 1. Coconut oil - 2 tbsp
  14. 2. Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  15. 3. Cumin - 1 tsp
  16. 4. Red chilli - 2
  17. 5. Shallot - 10 sliced
  18. 6. Curry leaves - 10
  19. 7. Coriander leaves - to garnish

Steps

  1. 1

    In pressure cooker add washed moong dal, amaranth leaves, garlic, tomato, turmeric, hing, coconut oil, green chilli, salt and water. Close with lid and cook until it done. Once the pressure released mash and keep aside.

  2. 2

    Now heat medium kadai add coconut oil. Once oil hot add mustard and cumin. Once mustard done add red chilli, curry leaves.

  3. 3

    Now add the shallot. Once shallots saute a bit add chopped coriander leaves and add this to the mashed dal.

  4. 4

    Serve hot with rice and ghee. Its yummy and healthy food.
