Cube bottle gourd and pressure cook with 1/2 cup water and little salt only one whistle.Open lid after 2 minutes.Set aside.Boil moong dal with salt,turmeric and ghee for 2 whistles with 1 cup water.Open pressure after 5 minutes.Meanwhile fry the bitter gourd. Mix all in the dal Heat mustard oil in a wok and sprinkle phoron and dry red chillies.When it splutters pour this in dal and boil till well mixed.The dal should not be overboiled.Add 1 tsp sugar and scraped coconut.Serve with rice.
