Ingredients

4 servings
  • Forbatter:
  • 1 cupyellow moong dal
  • 1/2 cupurad dal
  • 3/4 cupchana dal
  • 1 spoonginger - green chilli paste
  • 1 spoonsalt or as per taste
  • 2 spoonssugar
  • 1 spoonoil
  • 1/2 spoonturmeric
  • 1 spooneno
  • ForFor tempering :
  • 2 spoonsoil
  • 1 pinchasafoetida
  • 1 spoonmustard seeds
  • 1 spoonsesame seeds
  • For garnishing:
  • 2 spoons grated coconut
  • 2 spoonschopped coriander leaves

    Soak the moong,chana and urad dal for 4-5 hrs.

  2. 2

    Then grind in a mixer using a little water to make a paste of pouring consistency

  3. 3

    Transfer the paste to a bowl, add ginger - green chilli paste, salt turmeric, sugar, 1 spoon oil and mix well.

  4. 4

    Just before steaming add eno and mix lightly.

  5. 5

    Pour the batter into a greased plate and sprinkle red chilli powder on it.

  6. 6

    Steam in a steamer for 15 - 17 minutes or till the dhokla are cooked.

  7. 7

    Now heat a tadka pan, add oil and mustard seeds.

  8. 8

    When they splutter add sesame seeds, asafoetida and saute for 30 seconds.

  9. 9

    Pour the tempering over the prepared dhokla and spread it evenly.

  10. 10

    Sprinkle coriander leaves and fresh coconut on the dhokla.

  11. 11

    Serve with sweet and sour chutney.
