Steps

Roast the moong dal in a dry pan until it changes it's colour.

Soak the roasted dal in 1 cup of water for 1 hour.

Once soaked, grind the dal to make an almost smooth batter.

Now pour the batter into a heavy bottomed pan,whisk in the milk,ghee, sugar and green cardamom powder.

Turn the heat to medium and keep stirring the moong dal until it thickens and begins to leave the side of the pan.

Once it comes away from the sides of the pan pour the mixture into a greased flat vessel to set.Let it cool.

Once cool slice into desired shape.

Garnish with vegetarian silver sheets,cashew nuts and chopped pistachios.

Moong Manohari is ready to serve.
