Ingredients

  • 1/2 kgRice (boiled with whole garam masala and salt)
  • 1/2 kgMutton
  • 1/2 kgPotato
  • 4 Tomato (sliced)
  • 4 onion large (sliced and fried brown)
  • 250gm or 1 cupYogurt
  • 1 tbspRed chilli powder
  • 2 tbspCoriander powder
  • 1 1/2 tspZeera
  • 1 tbspFennel seed
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • 10Dried plums (washed and soaked in a little water)
  • 2 piecesCinnamon stick
  • 8-10Whole red chilli
  • 2Black Cardamom
  • 10Black pepper
  • 1 tspBlack cumin
  • 8Green Cardamom
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1 tbspGarlic paste
  • 2 tbspGinger chopped
  • 2Lemon
  • 12Green chilli
  • 1/3 cupMint
  • 1/2 cupCoriander leaves
  • 1 1/2 cupGhee (I used ghee it tastes fantastic)

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat oil add mutton fry a little add half of fried onion,
    Garlic ginger and all garam masala.

  2. 2

    Add all spices chilli powder, coriander, zeera powder, turmeric,
    * Add water and cook till meat is tender.

  3. 3

    When meat is tender add yogurt and potatoes cook it.

  4. 4

    Add chopped coriander and mint.
    * Set a layer of sliced tomatoes, green chillies, mint and sliced lemon and ginger Julienne cut.

    Now set a layer of boiled rice on top of it and some brown onion.
    * Add pinch of orange food colour.
    * Keep on dum for 15min on low flame

    Serve with raita...
