Steps

In a pan add cumin seeds and 1 dry chilli. Roast on low flame for a minute. Cool it down and powder it.keep it aside.

Now in another pan add oil, heat it, add mustard seeds, dry chilli and curry leaves.

Now add chopped tomatoes, ginger,dry dates and salt. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.

Now add sugar, 1/2 cup water, raisins and cook for another 5 minutes.Add the cumin seeds and chilli powder now. Mix well. Saute for a minute.

A recipe from orissa state is ready. Serve it with chapatis, rice or parathas.
