Ingredients

  1. 1 bagTex-Mex tortilla chips
  2. 1 poundground beef (about 450 grams)
  3. 1 bagshredded four-cheese blend
  4. 1red bell pepper
  5. 1onion
  6. 1/2 jartomato sauce, or to taste
  7. Assorted spices (nutmeg, cumin, cinnamon, garlic powder)
  8. Salt
  9. Olive oil

Cooking Instructions

    Sauté the chopped onion and red bell pepper in a pan until soft. Add salt to help release their moisture. Once softened, add the ground beef and stir.

    Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C), using both top and bottom heat if possible. After adding the beef, season with your preferred spices—about 1 teaspoon of each or a little less is perfect.

    Do not fully cook the beef, since it will finish in the oven. Add the tomato sauce, stir briefly, and turn off the heat.

    Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and spread out the tortilla chips. Top with the beef mixture, then sprinkle the entire bag of cheese over the top.

    Bake until the cheese is melted, then remove from the oven and enjoy! They are delicious. I like to serve them with ranch dressing, which I buy at the store.
