Ingredients

2 serves
  • 1/2 kgchicken (i use drummet)
  • 1 cmturmeric or 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 cmgalangal
  • 1 tspcoriander seed
  • 2bayleaves
  • 2lemongrass
  • 1/2red onion
  • 4garlic cloves
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1/2 tspsugar
  • 2 tbspcooking oil
  • 5 cupswater

Steps

  1. 1

    Grind red onion, garlics, turmeric, and coriander seed

  2. 2

    Put cooking oil in a pot, add ground spices, stir it in medium fire until turns golden.

  3. 3

    Add lemongrass, galangal, bayleaves, salt and sugar, stir it well.

  4. 4

    Add water, mix it well. Add the chicken, cover the pot, slow cook until the water reduces less than half.

    Let it settle, when it cools down, deep fry the chicken.
