Steps

Firstly in a large kadhai heat 1/2 cup ghee and roast two cup of besan in low flame.

Stir continuously till the besan combines any lumps.

Keep frying on low flame till the paste turns aromatic.

After 20-25 minutes the mixtures turns golden brown indicating that besan has been cooked completely keep aside.

Now in another pan take half cup sugar and half cup water.

Dissolve sugar completely and boil for 8 minutes.

Check for one string consistency of sugar syrup else boil further. Be careful as the sugar syrup will be very hot.

Now transfer the prepared sugar syrup over besan mixture (keeping the flame off).

Stir well making sure the sugar syrup mixed uniformly and thickens.

Also add 1/4 tsp cardamom powder and mix well.

Transfer the prepared dough into greased plate.

Now top with few chopped almonds and press slightly

Allow to set for 30 minute or till it sets completely.

Now cut into square pieces

Finally, serve besan chakki Or store in air tight container.
