Medu Vadas in a totally different way. Made with Semolina or Suji, these make for some really crunchy and crisp stuff to be enjoyed with your loved ones and friends at tea-time or Shaam ki chai. Semolina is one such ingredient that is present and available in every Indian kitchen. And to whip up these beautiful looking Medu Vadas is therefore not at all difficult and impossible. So please do give these a try and feed your families something so healthy and homemade for breakfast, brunch, tea-time or even for Iftaar. You will definitely be flooded with compliments and that's for sure.
Happy Cooking Everyone!

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

Make a smooth batter out of all the ingredients mentioned by adding a little water at a time as required. Do not add all at once. The quantity of water depends on the quality of the Semolina. So use it accordingly. Keep aside well covered for about 20 minutes.

  2. 2

Meanwhile heat Oil on a low heat. Shape into Medu Vadas using your thumb for the dent in the centre. Wet your palms a little before you proceed. Slide them carefully into the hot Oil. Deep fry on a low to medium high heat only until crisp and golden brown in colour. Do not fry on a high heat. This is important to keep in mind. The inside may not cook well if you do so.

  3. 3

Serve them hot with any Chutney of your choice. Enjoy!

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
