Ingredients

4 servings
  1. Oil ¼ Cup Zeera (Cumin seeds)
  2. 2 tspLaung (Cloves)
  3. 3Darchini (Cinnamon stick)
  4. 1Pyaz (Onion) chopped
  5. 1large Lehsan paste (Garlic paste)
  6. 1 tbsTamatar (Tomato) chopped
  7. 1large Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder)
  8. 1 tspor to taste Namak (Salt)
  9. 1 tspor to taste Dhania powder (Coriander powder)
  10. 1 tspHaldee powder (Turmeric powder)
  11. 1/2 tspHari mirch (Green chilies) chopped 2-3
  12. 1& ½ Cups chana daal (soaked & boiled) Pani (Water) ½ Cup or as required
  13. 1 tspGaram masala powder
  14. Tadka:
  15. 1/4 CupOil
  16. 6-7Curry pata (Curry leaves)
  17. 1/2 tspKashmiri lal mirch (Kashmiri red chilli) powder
  18. Hara dhania (Fresh coriander)
  19. Chopped ginger

Steps

  1. 1

    In pot,add oil,cumin seeds,cloves,cinnamon.

  2. 2

    Add onion and fry until light golden.Add garlic paste and mix well.Add tomato and mix well.

  3. 3

    Add red chilli powder,salt,coriander powder,turmeric powder and mix well

  4. 4

    Add green chilies and mix well,cover and cook on low flame until tomatoes are soft.

  5. 5

    Add boiled split bengal gram and mix well.

  6. 6

    Add water,mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  7. 7

    Add garam masala powder,cover and cook on low flame for 8-10 minutes then mix well & set aside.

  8. 8

    In small frying pan,add oil and heat it,add curry leaves and mix.

  9. 9

    Turn off the flame,add Kashmiri red chilli powder and mix well.

  10. 10

    Add tadka on cooked split Bengal gram.
    Add fresh coriander,ginger & serve!
