Sago kheer/ javvarisi payasam

Take water in a vessel, add sago and a pinch of salt. Cook well. Keep aside.

In a heavy bottom pan, add ghee and roast cashews and raisins. Remove in a separate bowl and set aside.

In the same pan boil milk and sugar. Mix well till sugar dissolves.

To this add the cooked sago along with water and boil 10 minutes. This kheer thickens as it cools so adjust the consistency accordingly.

Add cardamom powder and the fried cashews and rasins. Serve hot or cold.
