Ingredients

  • 1 cuptuar dal or pigeon pulse
  • 2 cupmix veg chopped in cubes( carrot,drumstick, bottle gourd)
  • 1 tbspimli (tamarind)pulp
  • 1 tspgrated Jaggery
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  • 2-3 tbspsambhar masala(I used homemade)
  • As neededCurry leaves
  • 1 tsprai(mustard seeds)
  • 1/4 tspasafoetida
  • to tasteSalt
  • As neededOil for Tempering
  • 3-4whole red chilli
  • as neededwater

Steps

  1. 1

    First wash and soak tuar dal for 20_30 min.

  2. 2

    Now place dal in cooker add salt and turmeric powder. And cook funtil 3/4th done.

  3. 3

    Now open the lid and vegetable, chilli powder and sambhar masala cook another 2 whistle.let it cool open the lid and add imli and Jaggery cook for 1 boil.

  4. 4

    Take a Tadka pan add oil warm it add Curry leaves, whole red chilli mustards seed,asafoetida temper it on cooked sambhar.

  5. 5

    Tasty sambhar is ready to serve with z idi dosa and appe.
