Season the fish strips with salt and pepper to taste.

Lightly dust the fish strips with a little cornstarch.

In a mixing bowl, combine all the beer batter ingredients.

Dip the fish strips in the batter and fry them.

Serve with the Thai-style cabbage salad.

In a salad bowl, combine the cabbage, carrots, mint, and cilantro. Toss well with the dressing. Transfer the salad to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds, cilantro, and green onion.
