Kheer

It's a traditional sweet dish and no state of India can claim that this dish is belonging to them. Actually rice and milk are the symbols of prosperity. Different parts of India, may be method and some ingredients might be different but basic ingredients which are rice and milk common. This is my son's favourite dish too.

Steps

Take rice in pressure cooker. Wash it. Add Saffron in this. Add 2 cup water. And give 6-7 whistles.

Once it is ready to open, open and mix saffron and rice. You can mash it if you like. Add condensed milk.

Let it be on low gas flame. Add milk and mix it continuesly. Add nutmeg powder and Cardamom powder and sugar. Give a nice mix.

Keep it on low flame for few more minutes. Add chopped almonds. While serving you can decorate with chopped pistachio.
