Ingredients

  1. Prepared pie crust
  2. 6medium apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  3. 2 tspcinnamon
  4. 1/4 cupsugar
  5. 1 tspnutmeg
  6. 1/4 tspallspice
  7. Topping
  8. 1/2 cupflour
  9. 1/4 cupbrown sugar
  10. 1/2 cupsoft butter

Cooking Instructions

45-55mins

    Preheat oven 350

  2. 2

    Put apple slices, spices and sugar into bowl. Mix

  3. 3

    Pour slices into pie crust

  4. 4

    In same bowl, add flour and sugar. Mix with fork or pastry blender

  5. 5

    Add butter and blend into course crumbs

  6. 6

    Pour on top of apple slices

  7. 7

    Bake 45-55 minutes or until apples are soft and topping is golden brown

  8. 8

    Use a variety of apples— I used Cortland, honey crisp, wolf river, and granny smith

Started cooking/baking with Gram just as soon as I was old enough to stand in a chair, with her apron tied around my chest. Made my first solo Thanksgiving meal at age 8. Putting a new flair on classic nothern New England style cooking.
