Ingredients

5-6 servings
  1. 1 cupchana daal
  2. 1 tspzeera
  3. 4 tbspoil
  4. 1small onion chopped
  5. 2-3garlic cloves chopped
  6. 2small tomatoes chopped
  7. 1/2 tspginger paste
  8. 1 tspgreen chilli chopped
  9. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  10. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  11. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  12. 1/2 tspaam chooor powder (Khataai)
  13. 1 tspcorriandar powder
  14. 1 pinchheeng
  15. 1 tspkasoori methi crushed
  16. 1/4 TSPkalonji
  17. 2 tbspcapsicum chopped
  18. 1 tbspgreen corriandar chopped

Cooking Instructions

    Wash chana daal 2-3 times with tap water and soak it for 1 hour.

    Now rinse water and put Chana daal in pressure cooker with 2.5-3 cups of water.

    Cook it in pressure cooker with some turmeric powder for 7-8 mins or 2-3 whistles. (Pressure cooker system may vary) after 10 min turn off flame, when pressure settle down open the lid and check the daal. It should be soft and tender.

    Now in a pan heat oil and fry zeera for some seconds..

    Add garlic and fry it till it changes colour to light brown

    Add chopped onion and fry it till light brown

    Now add chopped tomatoes ginger paste capsicum and green chillies. Mix well

    Then add all dry spices, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, corriandar powder, heeng, khataai kalonji And garam masala. Stir it well

    Saute the mixture well till tomatoes softened and leaves oil.

    Now add crushed kasoori methi and mix.

    Now pour Chana daaal along with its water in spice mixture. And mix well

    Continue to cook it for 5-7 mins more.

    Check its consistency. Thick daal with roti and and runny daal with rice.

    Garnish it with corriandar or mix in it. Ready. 😋😋
