Jammy soft boiled eggs

Eggs are an amazing breakfast food. I love having soft and jammy boiled eggs in the morning. I've tested multiple methods, but this method is always consistent for me. The inside isn't too runny. It's almost like a poached egg in a boiled form.

Ingredients

roughly 10 mins
1 person
  1. 2large eggs

Cooking Instructions

roughly 10 mins
  1. 1

Place some water in a pot.

  2. 2

Take the eggs out of the fridge and leave it out.

  3. 3

Set the temperature to below max. I set my stove top to be 8 which is one right below the max.

  4. 4

Watch the water - you want the water to start simmering just a bit (small bubbles) - not to a full boil - this is to prevent the egg shells from cracking.

  5. 5

Place the eggs into the pot and boil them for 6 and half minutes (6 mins 30 seconds). Do not lower the temperature.

  6. 6

When the timer goes off, place the eggs in cold water and drop a couple of ice cubes (ice bath) for a couple of minutes. The ice bath will stop the eggs from cooking and also it will help with the peeling.

  7. 7

    Peel the eggs and enjoy.
