Ingredients

  1. Ingredients For sarson saag
  2. 1 kgsarson (mustard leaves)
  3. 1 bunchPalak (spinach)
  4. 1 bunchbathua saag (goosefoot)
  5. 1small bunch Fresh methi (fenugreek)
  6. 10-12 cloveslehsan(garlic)
  7. 10-12hari mirch (green chilli) chopped
  8. 2-3 cupsWater
  9. 4-5Leshan (garlic) cloves
  10. 2-3 tbsmakkai atta (maize flour)
  11. ingredients For tarka
  12. 2 tbsoil
  13. 2 tbsmakhan(butter)
  14. 1 tbsLehsan (garlic) cloves chopped
  15. 1 tbsadrak (Ginger) chopped
  16. 7-8sabut lal mirch (button red chilli)
  17. For makki roti ingredients
  18. 3 cupsmakai atta(maize flour)
  19. Salt to taste
  20. Water lukewarm as required
  21. Desi ghee as required
  22. 2thick plastic sheets

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash sarson saag, spanish, bathua saag and fenugreek properly and cut them all...

  2. 2

    Then in a pot add water, sarson saag, spanish, bathua saag, fenugreek,garlic, green chilli, salt mix well and bring it to boil... Cover and cook on low flame cook for 2 to 3 hours...

  3. 3

    After it cooked, blend the whole mixture,add maize flour in saag and mix well and cooked until it thickens, set aside...

  4. 4

    Now tarka time!!! In a pan heat oil and butter, add garlic, button red chilli, ginger, garlic, saute until golden brown.... Now add this tarka into sarson saag... And sarson saag is ready....

  5. 5

    Now make makki roti...in a bowl add maize flour, salt, lukewarm water as required and knead until dough becomes ball(use heel of hands) now divide it into small equal parts...

  6. 6

    Now take two thick plastic sheets place one dough ball and press in between the plastic sheet... Now press the dough ball a little with your palm and flattened it and make a round shaped roti... Heat griddle and fry makai ki roti from both sides with desi ghee... Makki roti is ready serve with saag and enjoy
