Ingredients

  • 1 cupRice
  • Tamarind lemon size
  • 1 tspTurmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tspHing
  • 1 tspMustard seeds
  • 1 tbspChanna dal
  • Curry leaves a few
  • 3 tbspSesame oil
  • 1 tbspPeanuts
  • 2Capsicum
  • To roast and grind
  • 1 tbspChanna dal
  • 1 tbspUrad dal
  • 1 tbspCoarinder seeds
  • 5Red chilli
  • 1 tbspCumin seeds
  • 1 tspPepper corns
  • 2 tbspPeanuts

    Soak tamarind in warm water and extract the juice

  2. 2

    Pressure cook rice and spread it on a plate.

  3. 3

    Roast the ingredients until golden brown and grind it into a coarse powder.

  4. 4

    In a pan add oil when it is hot add Mustard seeds,when it splutter add urad dal, hing,peanuts and curry leaves.

  5. 5

    Add the capsicum pieces, turmeric powder and salt. Saute for a few minutes, then add the tamarind pulp, and boil for a few minutes till the raw smell goes off.

  6. 6

    Then add the grinded powder, mix well. Finally add the cooked rice, mix well without breaking the rice.
