Melt the butter.

Grind the walnuts and almonds in a blender until finely ground.

Lay out one sheet of phyllo dough and brush it with melted butter.

Add about 1 espresso cup of the nut mixture and roll it up.

Generously butter a baking dish and place the rolls inside.

Score the rolls into pieces, but do not cut all the way through.

Brush the tops with the remaining melted butter.

Bake in a preheated oven at 430°F (220°C) until golden brown.

Prepare the syrup by combining all the syrup ingredients in a pot and bringing to a boil.

Let the syrup cool completely. Once the baklavadakia are baked and still hot, pour the cooled syrup over them.
