Today is a special day for all the mothers because it's their own day. They get all the love, compliments, gifts, hugs more and more this day. So, I have decided to prepare this special favorite dish of my mother as a delicious token of love for her.
Sweet potato kheer is her all-time dessert as it goes well with all the menus, fasting days, or just as a quick sweet dish.
I thank Madhumita Bishnu ji for her super recipe which I recreated in my way.

Sweet potato kheer is her all-time dessert as it goes well with all the menus, fasting days, or just as a quick sweet dish.

Steps

First, wash and slice the sweet potato into thin slices.
Heat ghee in a pan. Add the sweet potato slices and saute' them till golden. - 2
Then add 1 cup milk, cardamom powder and cook on slow flame till they are soft but not mushy. Keep aside covered till use.

In another pan, cook the soaked Sama rice with 1cup of milk, 1/4 cup water and stir frequently while cooking it on low flame. Add water in case needed.

When the same rice is cooked, add sugar, milk powder, sweet potato and cook on low flame for 5 to 7 minutes till it slightly thickens and all the flavors are absorbed. Lastly, add some Kesar threads soaked in warm milk for added flavor.

Garnish with chopped almonds and serve hot or warm. Happy. Mother's Day!😍😍
