I made this for my squid-loving family!

If you don't pat the squid dry, it will cause the sesame oil to spit out of the pan and it's pretty dangerous. Sprinkle with a little shichimi spice. Recipe by Renabouzu

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 1Surume-ika (dried squid)
  2. 1/2Onion
  3. 2Green peppers
  4. 1/2Carrot
  5. 1 tbspGarlic powder
  6. 1Katakuriko
  7. 1Sesame oil
  8. A
  9. 1 tbspSugar
  10. 2 tbspSoy sauce
  11. 1 tbspMirin
  12. 50 mlSake
  13. 1 tspJapanese dashi stock powder (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    After preparing the squid, cut into easy-to-eat pieces and pat dry. Sprinkle the garlic powder. Cut the onion into thin slices, then julienne the green peppers and carrots.

    Heat the sesame oil in a pan. Sprinkle the squid with katakuriko and fry until crisp.

  3. 3

    Remove the squid from the pan. Clean out the pan, then heat up some more sesame oil. Stir fry the vegetables.

    Return the squid to the pan and add the "A" seasonings. Mix together. Transfer to a plate and enjoy!
