I've always loved to eat komatsuna like this. It's the best way to draw out the flavor of the komatsuna

Steam quickly over medium heat.
I recommend using locally grown garlic. Be careful not to over-fry it, or it will become bitter. Recipe by Kyoku

  • 1 bunchKomatsuna
  • 2 cloveGarlic
  • 1 tspSesame oil
  • 1Red chili pepper (sliced)
  • 1heaping tablespoon Sake
  • 1generous amount Coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1/2heaping teaspoon Natural salt

Steps

    Rinse the komatsuna and chop into bite-sized pieces.

    Fry the sliced garlic in sesame oil. Add the sliced red chili pepper.

    Add komatsuna and drizzle with sake. Cover and steam. Once the komatsuna is tender, season with salt and pepper. Lightly stir.

    It's ready to serve.
