Mustard Chicken is an Indian Curry Recipe made by marinating and cooking chicken pieces in mustard paste in a gravy with coconut milk and spices. A must try recipe. You can enjoy this dish as a Starter or Side Dish or Main Dish.
Steps

Firstly, in a small bowl add mustard seeds. To it, add warm water and soak for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, transfer the mustard seeds alongwith the water to a blender. Add ginger and garlic.

Add green chillies and grind coarsely. Set aside.

For Marination of chicken, add the washed and drained boneless chicken pieces to a large bowl. To it, add the ground mustard paste.

Add salt and mustard oil. Mix until well combined. Set aside. Marinated for 4 hours. Minimum 1 hour marination is necessary.

In a kadhai, add mustard oil. When it gets hot and smoky, add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle. Add broken green chillies and saute for few seconds.

Reduce the flame to low and add turmeric powder and kashmiri red chilli powder. Saute lightly.

Quickly add the marinated chicken and saute for about 6 to 8 minutes.

Add sugar and mix well.

Pour the coconut milk.

Mix well. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes. Keep stirring at intervals.

Cook for more 6 to 8 minutes on low flame or until the chicken is tender. You can adjust gravy consistency.

Delicious Mustard Chicken is ready to serve. Enjoy it as a Starter or Side Dish or Main Dish.
