Idli with coconut chutney

For preparing idli batter you need to soak 3 cups of rice and 1 cup of urad dal for at least 5 to 6 hours

Once it get soaked grind it into a fine paste and put the lid and keep it outside for overnight (approx 10 to 12 hours depends on weather)

Use this fermentation batter to prepare idli. Put some salt in batter nicely and mix it well. Mind it batter should not be too thin and too thick.
Put the batter in the idli frame and cook it for 15 mins in full fame. Then switch of the gas. You can check with a fork that idli is cooked or not by putting the fork in between the idli if it comes clear your idli is ready and if not cook it for another 5 mins. - 4
For coconut chutney take 1 cup of coconut and 1/4 cup of fried Chana dal and one green Chilli, salt for taste and grind it in fine paste. In a small kadhai take few drops of oil put red Chilli whole, mustard seeds and curry leaves once is fried nicely put it on coconut paste. Your coconut chutney is prepared.
