Swahili beef pilau
Authentic swahili pilau without tomatoes.
Steps

First, clean and wash the meat,ads 1tsp of ginger powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp garlic paste then pressure cook or boil till tender set aside.

Heat a pan then add 3tsp of oil add your chopped onions stir till they are translucent

Add your whole spices you can either use whole or powder its your choice mix once they start to splutter add your garlic paste mix then add your meat without the broth mix properly the lastly add your potatoes.

Mix everything then add your broth.taste for salt remember we adder salt when boiling the meat cover and let it simmer for sometime

Drain your washed rice(pre soak it for like half an hour).add your rice to the stock. Stir

If you find there is very little water left in the rice, reduce the heat to the lowest point.Leave the rice to continue steaming on very low heat for a good 10-15 mins. Switch off, and serve with kachumbari and pilipili.
