Sama ki khichdi or moraiyo/mordhan khichdi is usually made on Navratri fasting or Ekadashi fasting or other Hindu fasting. Sama is also known as Moraiyo/moraiya, mordhan, vari, varai, samak, samvat, vrat ke chawal and in English known as Barnyard millet.
In Gujarat, we usually call this Moraiyo ni Khichdi. My mom makes it on every fasting. This one and sabudana khichdi is must and basic dishes mom makes, while we are on fast...I also made Rajgira Flour Kadhi with this Moraiya Khichdi...taste is very delicious and yummy...😍😋🥰

First, wash and clean the moraiya with two to three times of water and drain all the water. Put it on the side.

Now heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, asafoetida, ginger, green chilli paste, cinnamon, cloves, sweet curry leaves and dried whole red chillies.

Now add chopped potato pieces, moraio, sendha salt, curd and water and mix well. Now cover the lid and let the khichdi cook for 20 minutes.

Now heat ghee in a frying pan and fry cashews and raisins in it.

Now mix these fried cashews and raisins in the moraiya khichdi.

Now we will make curry of Rajgira flour. For this, add yoghurt and whisk in a bowl, add rajagra flour and mix well. Now add water and mix it.

Now heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds it, add sweet curry leaves and ginger + green chilli paste and saute it.

Now add curry mixture, Sendha salt and jaggery, mix well and boil for 5 to 7 minutes. Add green coriander leaves and mix it.

Now our Falhari Dry Fruit Moraiya Khichdi and Rajgira kadhi is ready to serve... Plating and garnish as per your wish.
