Peanut tomato chutney (without onion garlic)

South Indian foods are accompanied by chutneys. We all love the creamy coconut chutney that goes perfectly with dosa, idlis, uttapam, upma. But if there is no coconut at home or we don't don't have much time to grate coconut and make chutney then this peanut tomato chutney will step in as the ultimate saviour. Just with in 15 mins. this chutney will amp up your meal like no other .
This chutney can be made two ways , with onion and garlic another one is with out onion and garlic.
I am going to share without onion and garlic peanut tomato chutney. This flavorful peanut tomato chutney without onion and garlic can be taken in any vrat .

First take peanuts and dry roast then roughly crush.

Now in a pan heat 1tbsp oil, add chopped ginger, chopped green chilli, cumin seeds, 3 whole red chillies,2tbsp chana dal. Saute well.

Add tomato cubes, salt. Saute well. After 5-7mins. Add jaggery then mix well. Turn off the flame.

Transfer them into a blender and add roasted and crushed peanuts. Blend everything well.

Transfer to a serving bowl.

Now it's time to give tadka to chutney. So for tadka first heat 1tbsp oil in tadka pan then add 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds, 1pinch asafoetida, curry leaves and 2whole dry red chillies. Pour the tadka to chutney. Now it's ready to serve peanut tomato chutney without onion and garlic. Serve with idli, dosa, uttapam vada or upma.
