This is Chinese sticky rice recipe only use Chinese sausages for main protein. The original recipe calls for Chinese cooking wine, but I replaced it with the regular white wine.

Ingredients

2-4 people
  1. 2 1/2 cupsglutinous rice, washed until liquid drains out clear
  2. 2onion, chopped
  3. 1 cupshiitake mushroom, sliced
  4. 1/4 cupbutter or less, for sautéing
  5. 250 gChinese sausage, sliced
  6. 1/4 cupChinese cooking white or white wine
  7. 2 1/2 cupschicken stocks
  8. 2 tbsplight soy sauce
  9. 1 tbspdark soy sauce
  10. 1 tbspoyster sauce
  11. 1/2 tspsalt
  12. Spring onion and peanuts for garnish

Cooking Instructions

    In a pot, melt butter and saute onion and shiitake mushroom until golden (6-8 minutes). Add the Chinese sausage and saute for another 6-8 minutes or until sausages have slightly crisp up.

    Add the wine. Saute until almost fully evaporated. Add the glutinous rice and give it a good mix. Once fully combined, add the chicken stock, light and dark soy sauce, oyster sauce and salt. Stir to fully combine then cover. Set the heat to low and let it in gentle simmer for 15 minutes or until rice is cooked.

    Turn off heat. Fluff up rice and cover. Serve hot with dumplings and condiments of chili-garlic oil.
