Zunka Bhakar

Zunka is a traditional Maharashtra dish that is prepared using gram flour / besan. It is an easy recipe that can be prepared using very less ingredients. Zunka Bhakar

Cooking Instructions

First of all heating oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin. When the mustard seeds crackle, add hing and onion to it and saute it on medium heat for a couple of minutes. Now add ginger, garlic, and green chili paste to it and mix it well. After a few seconds, add turmeric, red chili powder, and salt to it and mix everything well.

Now add besan to it. Mix it well and roast the flour on medium heat. Roast it until it gets aromatic.

Now add water to it and mix it well. Cook it on medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes. Add coriander leaves and turn off the heat. As it gets cold it becomes thick and dry. So serve it while it is still hot.

Serve hot zunka along with bhakar meaning jowar or bajra roti and green chilli thecha.
