Ingredients

  1. for gatte / gram flour dumplings:
  2. 1 cupbesan / gram flour
  3. 1/2 tspcoriander seeds
  4. 1/4 tspturmeric
  5. 1/4 tspred chilli powder
  6. pinchhing /ashafoetida
  7. 1/4 tspsalt
  8. 2 tbspghee
  9. 2 tbspcurd yogurt
  10. 2 tbspwater
  11. Pinchbaking soda
  12. for gravy
  13. 2 tbspoil
  14. 1 tspcumin seeds
  15. 1 tspkasuri methi
  16. tej patte
  17. 1/2 tspFennel seeds
  18. pinchasafoetida
  19. 1chopped onion
  20. 1 tspginger garlic paste
  21. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  22. 1 tspred chilli powder
  23. 1/2 tspcoriander powder
  24. 1 cupyogurt
  25. 1/2 tspsalt
  26. 1/4 tspgaram masala
  27. As neededcoriander leaves

Cooking Instructions

    For the dough of gatta's, first add all the things mentioned above in the besan and mix water accordingly and prepare tight dough.

    Now make the roll shapes of the dough and after all the rolls are done, boil them.

    When you find them perfectly boiled keep them aside and let them be cool.

    Now take the rolls and cut them in round shape.

  5. 5

    Now take a deep pan and heat 2tbsp oil and saut spices.

  6. 6

    Add chopped onions and ginger garlic paste and stir till it gets golden brown.

    Now add one cup water and one cup yogurt and mix them well for 2 minutes.

    Then add the prepared gatte in this mixture and let it boil for 5 mintues.

    Garnish it with coriander leaves and butter and now serve it with bajre ki roti or plain or missi roti or naan or partha
