Biryani is an intricate rice dish made with layers of curried meat and rice. In Pakistan biryani is made in various different ways depending on the city and culture.
Karachi is famous for having the most spicy and delicious biryani. Although I have not tried in person but watching, listening and going through recipes of some of my Karachi based friends, I have tried making the Karachi style biryani to celebrate this biryani festival with cookpad.

Karachi is famous for having the most spicy and delicious biryani. Although I have not tried in person but watching, listening and going through recipes of some of my Karachi based friends, I have tried making the Karachi style biryani to celebrate this biryani festival with cookpad.

Take a wok add oil, chopped tomatoes and fry till tomatoes are soft.

Then add, ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste

Mix well then add star anise, cinnamon stick, piece of nutmeg and mix well.

Add red chilli powder,salt and bhonify together.

Add potatoes, whole zeera

Bhonify together then add water and cook for 15 minutes until the potatoes is half done.

Take a bowl add yogurt, chicken pieces, Biryani masala mix well.

Add marinated chicken in prepared masala and mix well.

Now add zarda rung and mix well. Cook until chicken is tender and water dries. (Jab rice ko dum main rakhy tu aur zarda rung dalany ki zaroorat Nahi already masala main dala Hy)

Add lemon slices, green coriander leaves,mint leaves, green chillies.

Chicken biryani masala is ready.

Boil the rice

Now assembling time.
Now add boiled rice and add layers of chicken masala in between. Repeat one more layer. Place the coriander leaves and mint leaves on top. - 14
Cover the lid for dum.
Place on low heat flame on stove then place a flat tawa underneath it and simmer for 20 minutes minutes on low flame. - 15
Mix gently.

Serve hot with raita and enjoy the Karachi Biryani 😋.
