Ingredients

30 mins
4 servings
  • 1/2 bunchBanana flower
  • 1 cupTamarind Juice
  • 3 tablespoonssesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoonmustard seeds
  • 4red chilli
  • 1/2 teaspoonmenthi (fenugreek seeds)
  • 4– 5 curry leaves
  • pinchhing
  • 1/2 teaspoonJeera (cumin seeds)
  • 1/4 teaspoonTurmeric
  • oil
  • to tastesalt

Steps

  1. 1

    Clean the flower by removing the stick in between which cannot be cooked.

  2. 2

    Grind the flower into coarse mixture and pour it in water.

  3. 3

    Drain the water using filter. By doing this we can remove the bitter taste of the flower.

  4. 4

    In a plate take sesame seeds,mustard seeds, red chillies, turmeric.

  5. 5

    Grind them into smooth paste and keep it aside

    Heat oil in saucepan,fry the flower mixture till it turns golden.

  7. 7

    Add this mixture to the paste and grind it once again to became chutney.

  8. 8

    Heat oil again and add 1/4 tsp mustard seeds, 1/4 tsp of jeera, 1/4 tsp of menthi,hing and tamper into the chutney.

    This chutney is ready to serve with rice.
