Andhra style Traditional Banana flower chutney (Arriti puvvu Aava pachadi)

Banana flower has many benefits with immense medicinal values .Along with dietary fibers , protiens and unsaturated fatty acids ,it is rich in vit E and flavonoids. In suggetion of my mother in law I tried this chutney which is very tasty and loved by all .

Steps

Clean the flower by removing the stick in between which cannot be cooked.

Grind the flower into coarse mixture and pour it in water.

Drain the water using filter. By doing this we can remove the bitter taste of the flower.

In a plate take sesame seeds,mustard seeds, red chillies, turmeric.

Grind them into smooth paste and keep it aside

Heat oil in saucepan,fry the flower mixture till it turns golden.

Add this mixture to the paste and grind it once again to became chutney.

Heat oil again and add 1/4 tsp mustard seeds, 1/4 tsp of jeera, 1/4 tsp of menthi,hing and tamper into the chutney.

This chutney is ready to serve with rice.
