Sunsunia Saag is grown in aquatic area. Mostly grown in paddy field in rainy season. It's leaves, besides consumption also used for its medicinal properties. This saag is used hypertension, diarrhoea, respiratory and skin diseases. Sunsunia Saag saag mostly consumed in Bihar, Chhattisgarh Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Leafy vegetables (saag) is my favourite as it's tasty.

The taste of sunsunia is awesome. Cooking is simple as there is no need of any specific ingredients to cook this saag.

Ingredients

15 minutes
  • 100 gramsSunsunia Saag
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1green chilli
  • 1red chilli
  • 1/2 Tspmustard seeds
  • 1 Tbspmustard oil
  • As RequiredSalt

Steps

15 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash the saag and chop them.

    Heat oil in kadhi. When oil is hot add mustard seeds and allow to splutter.

    Add chopped onion and chili. Fry till done. Add chopped sunsunia saag and mix well.

    After the amount of saag is reduced, add salt and mix. Serve hot with steamed rice.
