Ingredients

30 minutes
4 persons
  1. 1/2 litrewhole milk
  2. 2 tbsparomatic rice
  3. 2 tbspsugar
  4. 1 tbspclarified butter (ghee)
  5. Cashew nuts, almonds-pistachios 1tsp each
  6. 4cardamom and. Few stands of saffron

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak rice for half an hour, then drain rice.

    In a pan, keep milk for boiling

  3. 3

    In another heavy bottom pan, heat ghee, add nuts and slices of dry coconut, fry for half a minute and remove in a bowl.

    In the same pan, add soaked and drained rice and fry for a minute.

    Add boiled milk into rice, cook it for 15 min on low flame.

  6. 6

    Add sugar, nuts mix and cook it again for 5 minutes on low flame.

  7. 7

    Add cardamom powder and saffron strands.

  8. 8

    Thick and creamy Kheer is ready. Put it in a serving bowl, garnish with pistachios and serve.

    Serve it hot or cold as you desire.
