An innovative and a yummy side dish by me to go with Rotis, Pooris and Dosas. Potatoes cut into very small cubes and cooked with whole Cumin Seeds and a few spices is what makes it so flavourful and aromatic. It smells heavenly and I usually serve this with Set Dosas. You will love the combo just as my family does. And to make it more aromatic and flavourful plus a bit colourful too, I have added in some Middle Eastern spice blend called Sumac. That's it. Nothing much complicated at all.
The rest is Sumac Zeera Aloo as you all can see. An absolutely tempting and a great looking Sabzi for your lovely mealtimes. Not only Breakfast, it can be enjoyed at any of the three main meals of the day. Goes well with a hot bowl of simple boiled Rice too. My family loves this as a filling in Frankies and Sandwiches too.
Try it out and enjoy your family time with your loved ones.

Steps
- 1
Wash and peel the Potatoes. Cut them into very fine cubes. It is an important step in my recipe. However you can cut them in your own way. Also the Potatoes can be boiled and used if desired. I used them raw.
- 2
Heat Oil in a cooking pot. Add Cumin Seeds and Green chillies to it. Now add and saute sliced Onions until translucent. Now add the rest of the spices and the Potato cubes. The main ingredient being the Sumac. Mix well.
- 3
Cover and cook on a low heat. It is done in about 20-22 minutes or a little more. Garnish with chopped Coriander Leaves. Serve hot as a delicious side dish to many a meals. Enjoy!
