Ingredients

Preparation time-10 mins, Cooking time-45 mins
3-4 servings
  1. For Spicy Luchi
  2. 1/2 cupUrad Dal soaked overnight
  3. 1 tspCarrom seeds
  4. 1/2 tspsaunf powder
  5. 1/2roasted coriander powder
  6. 1/2 tsproasted cumin powder
  7. 1 Tbspginger-coriander leaves- green chilies and Urad Dal paste
  8. as per tasteSalt
  9. 1 Tbspoil
  10. as requiredWater to make a tight dough
  11. For Spicy Potato curry
  12. 4Large potatoes
  13. 1/2 cupMotor Dal soaked overnight
  14. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  15. 1 tspred chilli powder
  16. pinchHing
  17. 2 TbspMustard oil
  18. 1/2 tspnigella seeds
  19. 1large tomato chopped
  20. 1 tspginger-green chilli paste
  21. 1bay leaf
  22. 1whole red chilli
  23. 1black cardamom
  24. 1 tspgaram masala powder
  25. as requiredSalt

Steps

Preparation time-10 mins, Cooking time-45 mins
  1. 1

    For Spicy Luchi - Soak Urad Dal overnight. Make a green chilli- Urad Dal- ginger coriander leaves paste. In a bowl add Refined flour, ginger-Urad Dal- green chilli-coriander leaves paste, salt, carrom seeds, saunf powder, roasted coriander powder, roasted cumin powder and with adequate water knead a stiff dough, cover for 10 mins.

    Grease with oil and set aside. Knead once again and make balls. Roll with a rolling pin Luchi shape, set aside

    In a wok heat adequate oil and add a Luchi., fry each side 1-2 mins, set aside

    For Spicy Potato curry - in a pressure cooker add potatoes, black cardamom, bay leaf, chickpeas for 1 whistle, depressurise and retain the water for further use

    In a wok heat mustard oil add nigella seeds, whole red chilli, stir for 1 min, add green chilli- ginger paste and hing and cook until raw sneak leaves, add chopped tomato and cook for 3-4 mins covered. Add boiled chickpeas, cut boiled potatoes and cook on high flame for 2-3 mins

    Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and stir for 1 mins. Add chickpeas boiled water in adequate quantity and cook for 2-3 mins

    Add dry Methi leaves and stir. Spicy potato curry is ready
